At last it seems like the winter is over (surely there isn't really going to be more sleet and snow this week?) Glasgow on Ice!

Glasgow's winterfest starts this weekend, and the ice skating was so much fun last year. If you've got children under 4 years old, they have special toddler sessions where they have dancing snowmen and little penguin trolley-things that they can push around, and sledges too. Pity they don't have the trolleys for the parents who have never skated before in their lives!

Oily Cart Theatre for Under Fives

If you are in the London Area and have small children, the christmas show by Oily Cart theatre company looks wonderful! It's all about baking, the children get to 'smell the baking dough, feel the flour and see the sugar and salt sparkle' and at the end they take away a freshly baked bun. My two little girls and I were amazed and enchanted by two of their previous shows - I'm just sad that they won't be performing this show in Scotland...

It was very hard to judge the drawings and they are all wonderful, but we especially liked Leah's colourful and very smiley monkey! Well done all of you!

Laminated Pictures

We had some family art and craft fun this afternoon making laminated pictures from (amongst other things) leaves that we picked up in the park this morning.

Monkey Face Bags

These new bags are on sale in the dotty monkey shop now! Each one has a unique hand stitched applique monkey face. They make great presents for children who always like to have somewhere to stash their stuff...

Space to Draw at the Lighthouse

I took my two little girls along to Space to Draw at the Lighthouse in Glasgow on Saturday. They both had loads of fun drawing all over the walls and windows, and illustrator Stuart White who organised the event (part of The Big Draw) made us feel very welcome, even when my 18 month old went a bit crazy with a permanent marker!

Qudos Craft Fair Change of Date

The Craft fair at Qudos on 3rd of December has been moved to the 4th of December, and we won't be at this event, but there will still be lots of other lovely stuff to buy, so get along there for a bit of christmas shopping!

A sunny day and a co-operative 4 year old meant we were able to photograph the children's aprons we have been making!
We have used Alexander Henry prints and they have adjustable ties so they should fit from around age 3 to age 7...
